MET-Rx Product Guide

Anew generation of British based strongmen is emerging and leading the pack is Mark Felix, who finished fourth at the 2006 MET-Rx World’s Strongest Man event. He now has his heights set even higher. With a 6ft 4inch and 301 pound frame, Mark has an incredibly muscular physique and impressive strength. Born in Grenada and now living in Blackburn, Mark works hard to stay in such great shape training most days. Specifically, he does gym work during the week, including 90kg dumbbell presses and 350 kg squats. At weekends he concentrates on trying to improve his techniques for certain events using his specifically developed equipment. Mark says: “Mariusz Pudzianowski is one of the competitors I respect the most. He’s always offering help and told me to do more event training and less gym training. At the top level of the sport, all the guys have phenomenal strength but its speed and technique that sets them apart.”
For his diet, Mark eats a staggering 7,000 calories a day, starting with eight Weetabix for breakfast! He supplements regularly with MET-Rx products including L-glutamine, ZMA and Amped. He rarely does cardio training as his plastering job keeps him on his feet all day. Having only discovered the sport in his thirties, Mark has since competed in over 40 strongman events and is improving all the time. His season starts in February and enables him to travel round the world competing in numerous countries including Poland, China and Latvia. Mark says: “Being a strongman is fantastic. To have met so many people and travelled the world has been great. I just love it and want to keep getting better. I want to win the MET-Rx World’s Strongest Man and then go to America and win the Arnold Classic strongman. Whatever I do, I always want to be the best.”
