MET-Rx Product Guide

When Robbie Johnson became the World United Martial Arts Under 65 Kilo World Kickboxing Champion in 2006, he fulfiled a lifetime ambition.
Robbie started kickboxing at the age of 19 when he met
instructor Paul Grieves at the Spartan Fighting Arts Academy
in Sunderland. After a year of training Robbie entered into his
first fight from which his ambitions for the world title grew and
grew. But nobody can say he’s had an easy ride. On his way
to reaching his goal, Robbie competed in 12 tournaments in
the space of 9 months, fighting and winning his way through
the regional, British and European titles before being
crowned World Champion.
Robbie’s typical week consists of five nights a week
training which goes up to six nights a week when
preparing for a fight. He splits his time between
resistance training, cardiovascular work and sparring
in the ring. Robbie doesn’t train with free weights
as this would increase his weight and potentially
decrease his speed in the ring. A lot of his
training regime is centred on weight
management and he goes on an 8 mile
run twice a week to stay trim.
Alongside his strict training regime, Robbie
is careful to ensure he eats the right
foods. His dietary intake is arranged and
monitored by his father, who ensures he
gets the right balance to meet his specific
requirements and keep him below his
target weight of less than 65 Kilos.
Robbie also swears by the MET-Rx
range, which he uses to keep him in
peak physical condition. He specifically
uses MET-Rx Supreme Whey Protein
and a variety of the MET-Rx supplements
to help support his training programme.
